As many people know I am not a native-born American. Well, a Chinese from Hong Kong. My English is not as perfect as yours. Some people gave me extreme negatives on my writing. I was discouraged, but I found hope in the Lord who understood me. “Is there anything too hard for the Lord?” You must be very familiar with that verse.

So I keep learning English and the craft of writing, and I believe I have come out to be a stronger writer now. Who did give me the confidence? God Himself.

Maybe someday, God would allow me to stand in front of a large group of authors to give Him glory.

Don’t give up on what He has planned for us.

Perseverance, in my opinion, is quite difficult to learn and develop, but oh so necessary for our Christian walk! There are so many times I get tired or discouraged, feeling as if I’ve been praying for something forever, or waiting for something forever, but then I read the biblical account of David who hid in caves waiting for God’s promise to come true, or Joseph who endured betrayal (twice–once by family, the second time by Potiphar’s wife) and unjust imprisonment, and Abraham who left Ur with a promise … a promise he continued to hope in, trust in, wait for as he made the long journey to Haran, then later, watched his wife mourn her barrenness.

Hope is a powerful gift offered during difficulties, but I believe it is one that must be grabbed hold of, clung to.
