One man or woman of character, fully surrendered to God, can change the world. You and I can impact families, communities, for the good for generations to come. Will you and I, as God’s ambassadors, do that which is convenient? Maybe personally beneficial? Or are we willing, on occasion, to flip a table or two. […]
I did it again, y’all. I really need a “before I publish blog posts” check list. For those following the chronological reading plan, I updated my previous post to add it. But I knew those who receive my posts by email likely wouldn’t see that, so I’m creating a follow up. Here’s week the reading […]
As we grow in Christ, we begin to discover who we truly are, and our actions necessarily follow. Living deeply rooted in our Christ-centered identity does much more than simply build our confidence. It also greatly impacts how we respond to others and provides a powerful insulator against sin. In each moment, we are living […]
Jen;
This article took two reads! I HAD to read it through twice because of the meaty texture.
What a great, comprehensive understanding of the difference in surrender and commitment.
I’ve been a commited Christian – A surrendered Christian – yikes/yeowser/YOUCH – it hurts to realize I’m such a control freak that I do not just surrender and have peace of heart and/or mind.
Thank you so much for sharing this – it’s something EVERY one who considers themself a Christian SHOULD read.
Thanks, Joy. I’ll tell my brother you enjoyed it. This is a great publication. I’ve read other articles from them before and am always challenged by them.
Excellent article! thank you for sharing
I am glad you enjoyed it, Edwina! And I’ll let my brother know, as well. 🙂
WOW!!! A very needed ‘whack’ on my own hard-head! That was very powerful, thought-provoking, convicting….this has shaped my prayers this evening and will in the days ahead. Made me realize again how subtle that ‘I’ is in me…and how encouraging it is to remember that victory is sure in Christ! Thanks for sharing….and for allowing Him to use you in our lives……sandyT
Thank you so much for sharing this article – how timely!! I believe the Lord is calling us to a deeper walk with Him. He is saying, “Choose this day whom you will serve.” I believe He is opening the eyes of His children to know and understand the cost of discipleship to prepare us for the days ahead.
Great article!
Thanks, Sandy! And thank you, Nan. I agree! It seems like that is something He must remind me of continually! I will draw close to Him for a while, then get distracted, but luckily He always draws me lovingly back.
